Cacofonia (cacophony): video directed by Bruno Cristóvão, for the performance/installation AI'topia .

Cacofonia (cacophony) shows a sequence of small interviews about the recent development and wide dissemination of artificial intelligence systems, in particular the conversational chat bots based on large language models, like chatGPT.

The interviews were made by a significant number of dali's' members to Iscte's dean (Maria de Lurdes Rodrigues), teachers, students and staff. At the same time, chatGPT was prompted with similar questions and concerns shown by the interviewees. A selection of the interviews and some interactions with chatGPT were integrated in Cacofonia.

The idea behind this piece was to show a wide range of opinions - some more informed, some less so - regarding AI and its impacts on human individuals, on work and employement, and on society in general. It was also shown that AI systems can exhibit and discuss exactly the same kind of concerns.
