dali: Digital Arts Lab, Iscte

This untitled composition (The melting of time) was presented at the exhibition dali Show 2022. Although it has been created as a quadraphonic composition and presented in a quadraphonics system, here it has been converted to a stereo version.

The composition was inspired by an arpeggiated arrangement, with subtle differences throughout time, and consequently stretched, having been introduced iterative and random elements throughout the four versions of the piece, creating small events that, in different dimensions of time, occur simultaneously or out of phase, having different implications and ways of listening, depending on the listener's position in the room.

The piece represents a clear allusion to the inexorable passage of time, and to our different, internalised perceptions of it, according to the variability in space. A minute in one place is not the same as a minute in another.
