AI'topia was an installation/performance with three acts, spatially distributed across distinct regions of the exhibition room. This page covers only on the second act - the present (May, 2023). The second act addressed mainly social and individual noise produced everywhere almost immediately after chatGPT was made available.
This reaction noise comprised opinions, fears, exultations from people with no understanding whatshowever of what was going on, from people with only minimal knowledge about the problem, and also from a few with enough background either in AI, in social and human sciences, or both.
AI'topia second act presented a reasonable diversity of artwork reflecting the feelings about AI and its impcats on individuals, society, science and technology.
The art movie Cacophony presents opinions expressed by members of the staff and professors from Iscte. Those opinions were acquired via individual interviews.
Another movie was also presented in the second act: the film of a play created in cooperation with mISCuTEm, Icste's theater group, specifically for AI'topia second act.
Two photo collections, one by Denis Graeff and another by Miguel Casquinho, were also included in the second act.
